Position: Cellar Worker I
Position Overview:
As a Cellar I team member, you will complete and train others on all winery cellar activities including receiving grape deliveries, crushing, pressing, conducting wine transfers, racking, blending, filtration, and sanitation. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in forklift operation and cellar activities, with a strong ability to handle physical tasks involving heavy lifting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform cleaning and sanitation procedures with precision and consistency.
· All aspects of wine transfers: cleaning, equipment preparation and wine movement.
· Ability to read work orders and carry out winemaking requests with minimal guidance.
· Accurately fill out work orders and supporting documents using clear and legible terminology.
· Ability to monitor fermentation, pull wine samples and obtain tank measurements.
· Supervise small teams, train staff and lead projects.
· Ability to work safely and efficiently in confined spaces.
· Understand OSHA safety and winery Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
· Follow all company policies and procedures.
· Conduct SOP and safety training for cellar worker levels II and III.
· Perform SO2, fining, wine additions to barrels / tanks.
· Identify and report equipment issues to Cellar Master.
· Perform periodic inventory of wine and dry goods (empty barrels, kegs, chemicals); identify inventory discrepancies and proactively resolve.
· Independent operation of all harvest crush equipment (press, distemper, sorting tables)
· Independent operation of wine and beverage filtration equipment
· Independent operation of chiller, heater, and tank thermostats.
· Additional tasks as requested.
Qualifications:
· 4+ years of cellar experience
· 2+ years of supervisory experience (teams of 5 or more)
· Valid CA driver’s license
· Forklift experience
· Respiratory certification
· High School Education
· Able to lift 50 pounds
· Available to work overtime as required, especially during harvest

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
