Tasting Room Director
We are seeking an experienced Tasting Room Director to join our fun vibrant team. The position will report directly to the President and will be directly responsible for multiple tasting rooms, one in El Dorado County, and the other coming in 2025 in Fairfield, CA. The Tasting Room Director will be responsible for making sure our guests receive a 5-star experience each and every time they visit. The ideal candidate is a person who is extremely passionate about wine, has extensive knowledge of not only the Fairplay Wine Region but various regions across the USA and around the world, and has previously worked for a winery in the same position. You will lead by example, demonstrating a great attitude, easily adapting to sudden changes, and solving problems on the go. The successful candidate will have great customer service and leadership skills and will be able to demonstrate flexibility within their role to help support the execution of our Wine Club.

· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the multiple tasting rooms, located in El Dorado and Fairfield (Opening April 2025) which includes tastings, visitor relations, staff performance, and winery operations
· Train and supervise tasting room employees
· Create and execute engaging, educational, and memorable positive experiences for guests
· Effectively suggest and sell wine & club memberships to customers
· Positive execution of winery and guest events
· Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of our winery and our wines
· Greets all visitors to the Winery and pours wines for tasting
· Educate customers about wine, the history of our winery and vineyards
· Assist customers with transporting wine to customer vehicles when needed
· Answer visitor questions and able to provide general tourist information
· Create staff schedules on a timely basis to ensure adequate staffing levels
· Provide coaching, training, and ongoing feedback for the Tasting room staff
· Monitor and control wine inventory and merchandise to ensure the correct inventory and supplies are in place
· Manage instore wine shipments
· May be assigned other tasks or be asked to participate in other activities both on-site and off-site as needed, and additional duties related to wine and/or customer service
Qualifications
· Minimum two years’ experience in a management role within a winery
· Extensive wine knowledge — WSET qualifications preferred
· Proficient and or familiar with POS systems. Commerce7
· Knowledge of tasting rooms and grape-growing regions inside and outside of the Fairplay Wine Region
· Professional appearance and demeanor
· Warm and friendly, outgoing and trustworthy
· Able to work a flexible schedule (weekends, holidays and evenings)
· General math skills, be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages
· Excellent verbal communication, customer service, ability to resolve conflict, teamwork, persistence, selling to customer needs, thoughtfulness, professionalism, client relationship building
· Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
· Excellent people skills, able to project a friendly and helpful manner at all times
· Ability to multi-task and be situationally aware of your surroundings
· Able to perform quality work efficiently and with minimal supervision
· Open to working on-site special events after hours if needed
· Open to working other special events off-property when needed
Physical Qualifications
· Must be at least 21 years of age
· Be able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
· Able to lift up to 40 pounds
· Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours per day

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
