Trattore Farms & Winery is seeking a Lead Cook to join our growing culinary team. Trattore Farms is a family-owned winery that prides itself on providing great customer service and fantastic wines and olive oils while providing the best views in Dry Creek Valley. Job Duties / Essential Functions:
- Functions as Chef Tournant and supports Tasting Room Manager with kitchen supervision.
- Ensures that level of quality, portion control and plate presentation is adhered to consistently.
- Prepares a variety of cuisine utilizing skill and creativity while using all local & seasonal products, including produce from our onsite garden.
- Partner with General Manager, Winemaker, and Tasting Room Manager to prepare dishes to pair with estate wines.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe kitchen; ensures all sanitation procedures are being followed; ensures adherence to all health, environmental and safety regulations, and procedures.
- Skillfully utilizes hand tools or machines required, reads recipes, measures, cuts, and otherwise works on materials with great precision.
- Engages in daily food prep for a variety of culinary events and takes a lead position at culinary events.
- Helps order kitchen and food supplies.
- Minimize food waste and proactively control food costs.
- Assist with weekly/monthly inventory counts.
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of kitchen experience and willingness to be a leader in training
- Knowledge of how to use basic kitchen tools and equipment
- Knife skills
- Wine and Food Pairing experiences preferred
- Excited to join an existing program but willing to bring creativity to help expand our culinary program
- Ability to multitask
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must have clean driving record.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to be flexible with schedule.
Wage Transparency:
The base pay for this role ranges from $18.00 - $25.00 per hour. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
