Now Hiring: Harvest Lab Intern
A reputable Paso Robles winery is seeking a motivated Harvest Lab Intern to join their team for the upcoming harvest season. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in both the laboratory and production sides of the wine industry while working alongside an experienced winemaking team.
Whether you're pursuing a career in enology, viticulture, food science, chemistry, or simply looking to gain valuable winery experience, this role offers exposure to all aspects of the harvest process.
Schedule:
- Flexible start times between 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 8-hour shifts with overtime opportunities during peak harvest.
Pay:
- Starting at $17-19/hour, depending on experience.
Qualifications:
- Interest in winemaking, enology, viticulture, chemistry, biology, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced harvest environment.
- Ability to work early mornings, overtime, and weekends as needed.
- Previous winery, laboratory, or harvest experience is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect juice and wine samples from fermentation tanks and wine vessels using proper sampling techniques.
- Perform routine harvest juice and wine analyses using advanced laboratory equipment and automated instrumentation.
- Accurately record and enter laboratory and production data.
- Assist with grape receiving, crushing, pressing, and fermentation operations.
- Support cellar activities including pump-overs, punch-downs, tank monitoring, and sanitation.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory and winery environment.
