The Tasting Room Associate is a part-time, on-site role based in Healdsburg, CA. This team member welcomes guests, leads guided tastings, and presents the story behind Marchelle Wines and its vineyards in a friendly, informative manner. Daily responsibilities include describing wines and production methods, answering visitor questions, and providing attentive customer service throughout the tasting experience. The associate supports wine sales by accurately processing transactions, handling reservations, and promoting wine club memberships and special offerings. Additional duties may include restocking merchandise, maintaining a clean and organized tasting room environment, and assisting with events or private tastings as needed.
- Foundational wine education or interest in learning about varietals, regions, and production; ability to describe wines clearly and accurately.
- Experience or aptitude in wine sales, retail sales, or hospitality sales, with comfort discussing pricing, memberships, and promotions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to engage diverse guests, tell the Marchelle Wines story, and build rapport.
- Proven customer service skills, with a focus on creating welcoming, inclusive, and memorable tasting experiences.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift wine cases up to 40 lbs, and manage multiple guest groups in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous tasting room, hospitality, or restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings for special events.
- Must meet legal age requirements for serving and handling alcoholic beverages in California.
1+ years of work experience in a winery tasting room, restaurant or bar.
