Position Summary: This position is designed to provide guests to Kenwood Vineyards with an outstanding and unique winery experience. Our hospitality representative’s work with a team of skilled professionals to ensure guests receive the best impression of Kenwood, with a focus on customer service, sales and wine club sign-ups. Hospitality representatives will have strong passion for wine and exhibit enthusiasm to grow their knowledge and share this informationwith our guests.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing guests with an outstanding and unique experience. This includes
- Providing friendly and sincere greeting
- Educating guests about Kenwood ’s history and wines
- Developing ongoing relationships with guests to stimulate repeat visits and future sales.
- Hosting a unique and engaging tasting
- Pouring and describing wines and winemaking techniques
- Setting up and conducting general and elevated tastings for trade, VIPs or club members
- Promoting and selling Kenwood Wine Club, wine products and gift merchandise
- Handling routine purchasing transactions and daily sales accounting.
- Answering phones when necessary and booking reservations
- Assisting with hospitality special events, special wine tastings, and VIP luncheons/dinners
- Setting up visitor’s centers as needed by Manager (menus, glasses, tasting notes, water, and all proper marketing materials)
- Bar duties of opening wine, cleaning buffing wine glasses, restocking
- Actively participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Stay current on recent wine reviews, industry issues
- Learn about other wineries and their wines.
- Assist Leads and Manager, in providing a secure environment at close of day, ensuring final security and alarming of the Visitors Center.
· Learn and adhere to all principles of Kenwood Vineyards ISO QSE Management System.
· Respond quickly and graciously to customer requests and feedback.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
- Proven sales results, in the wine industry or other
- Knowledge of wine & wine production as would normally be attained through 1-3 years of experience in the wine industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Some college level education preferred, specifically in Business Administration, Marketing or Public Relations.
- Excellent verbal & interpersonal communication skills required.
- Clean and professional appearance
- Flexible schedule including weekends, some holidays and evenings as necessary
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Desirable:
- Bilingual any other language a plus
· 1-3 years’ experience in a hospitality focused environment
· RBS and Serve Safe certified
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy boxes (40-50 lbs) on a repeated basis.
- Position entails excessive standing and walking, and considerable bending.
- Ability to work in both an indoor and outdoor setting
Pay Transparency Disclosure: The pay scale for this position is $19.00/hr - $21.00/hr. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. The Company reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
