Prep Cook – Rancho Capistrano Winery, Ladera Ranch
Position Summary
Rancho Capistrano Winery is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to support our culinary team at our Ladera Ranch location. The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen organization, and ensuring all food is prepared according to recipe and quality standards. This position plays a critical role in creating an efficient kitchen environment and delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and chef specifications
- Wash, peel, chop, slice, and measure vegetables, fruits, meats, seafood, and other ingredients
- Prepare sauces, dressings, soups, and other menu components as directed
- Label, date, rotate, and properly store all food products following FIFO procedures
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitized workstations throughout each shift
- Assist line cooks and chefs during service as needed
- Receive and properly store deliveries
- Monitor product quality and report inventory shortages to management
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Assist with kitchen opening and closing duties
- Support dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning when necessary
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic knife skills and food preparation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as business demands require
- Food Handler Certification required or ability to obtain upon hire

Pay: $19.00 - $19.01 per hour
