JOB SUMMARY: As part of our management team, the Events & Marketing Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and growth of our marketing outreach and company and private events. The Events & Marketing Manager will develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to promote the brand’s story, cultivate and maintain lasting relationships, and provide exceptional guest experiences. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement long-term marketing strategies to promote the brand, wineries, lodging, and events.
- Lead and execute initiatives including event marketing, digital marketing, and direct to consumer marketing.
- Create email campaigns, newsletters, and press releases from start to finish.
- Develop and oversee email calendar.
- Support revenue goals, budgeting, and cost control initiatives.
- Assist in developing and managing SMS campaigns.
- Plan, create, and schedule compelling and on brand social media posts.
- Monitor and analyze campaign and sales strategy performance data.
- Utilize performance and sales data to identify and promote most effective seasonal timelines to market wine and experiences.
- Conceptualize and develop innovative approaches to grow and further outreach.
- Understand wine industry trends to achieve and develop the organizations overall goals and objectives.
- Oversee and execute development, creation, and ordering of printed materials.
- Ensure brand standards are consistently communicated and maintained across all marketing channels and materials.
- Collaborate and support Lodging and DTC sales teams on sales and marketing initiatives.
- Maintain excellent communication and partnership with Lodging and DTC teams.
- Plan and coordinate events including, but not limited to, club parties, winemaker dinners, live music series, and annual organizational events.
- Act as primary contact for planning, development, and execution of private and company events.
- Manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure profitability of events.
- Manage event details including wine selection, food offerings, musical entertainment, and staffing.
- Oversee logistics and coordinate with internal departments and outside vendors to ensure smooth event execution.
- Attend onsite and offsite events to help promote and represent brands.
- Provide guidance and training to DTC Sales teams so they may take over event operations at their location.
- Track and communicate progress toward sales and event targets to Management team.
- Identify opportunities to improve event efficiency and profitability.
- Lead, develop, and train team members to execute marketing and event initiative.
- Supervise and coach team members to ensure that they are properly trained on standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain team up to date on procedures, goals, event updates and other pertinent information.
- Foster teamwork by working and communicating with others in a collaborative and respectful way.
- Receptive to feedback and communicates concerns in a constructive manner.
- Work closely with Human Resources regarding any employee relations issues, including performance management and disciplinary action.
- Appraise performance, rewarding and taking disciplinary action when appropriate; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Follow all Company policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 21 years of age.
- Minimum three years of proven experience as an Events & Marketing Manager or similar role in the wine industry with successful track record.
- Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms, web and social media management, and event development and execution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and confidently with guests, team members, and vendors.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Successful experience supervising, coaching, developing, and managing staff.
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional guest service skills.
- Strong interpersonal awareness and relationship management skills; able to maintain excellent working relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors, and industry peers.
- Able to deftly resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
- Able to work weekends, events, occasional holiday, and extended hours as needed.
- Self-directed, motivated, and able to work with little direction or supervision.

- Current Responsible Beverage and Safe Food Handler Certification.
- Maintains a current class C California driver’s license and a clean, insurable driving record.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of successful experience in the same or similar position within the wine industry
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Fully proficient in the English language in both oral and written formats (speak, read, write, text, type) required. Multi-lingual preferred.
- Able to communicate in a professional and effective manner at all times in both oral and written formats.
- Ability to professionally and effectively respond to inquiries, comments, or complaints from internal or external customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Able to identify and resolve discrepancies.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in the use of CRM and POS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Nexternal, Constant Contact, Red Chirp, Social Media Platforms, and Adobe Creative Suite.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristic described here are representative of those an employee must work in while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly working in a combination of environments, including a tasting room, office, and outdoor areas. Employees will be exposed to varying temperatures and conditions when working outdoors. Traveling to other company properties and working at off-site events is required. The noise level in the work environment is generally low to moderate. Events may have higher levels of noise at times.

The employee must be able to squat, lift, move, carry and stack 50 pounds on a repetitive basis, climb stairs, set up/break down tables, chairs, and umbrellas. The employee may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel and crouch. Must be able to drive to other company locations, run errands, and attend special events.
