Tasting Room Steward
The Tasting Room Steward plays an essential role in delivering an exceptional winery experience. This position blends front-of-house hospitality with small-plate kitchen support, ensuring every guest feels welcomed, cared for, and inspired to return.
You are a steward of our wines and offerings and our guest relationships.
Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Greet guests promptly and warmly
- Guide guests through wine tastings and flights with confidence and enthusiasm
- Clearly explain food offerings, tasting options, and wine club benefits
- Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive service throughout their visit
- Create a welcoming, memorable experience from arrival to departure
- Ability to work special events
Wine Service & Sales
- Accurately pour and present wine tastings, flights, merchandise and apparel, and small plate options
- Share foundational wine knowledge (no previous experience necessary)
- Confidently recommend bottle purchases and wine club memberships (upselling whenever possible)
- Process transactions accurately through the POS system
- Collect guest emails, build lasting relationships and sign people up for our wine club membership
Food & Small Plate Preparation
- Prepare and plate small food items according to established guidelines
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain clean prep surfaces and equipment
- Monitor inventory and communicate needs to management
- Serve food promptly and accurately
Tasting Room Operations
- Conduct tastings
- Bus and reset tables efficiently
- Wash, polish, and restock glassware
- Maintain a clean and organized tasting room, kitchen, and service areas
- Follow opening and closing procedures thoroughly
Professional Expectations
- Arrive on time and prepared for each shift
- Maintain professional appearance and hygiene standards
- Communicate clearly and respectfully
- Support teammates
- Maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude is required at all times

- Previous hospitality or food service experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 40+ lbs
- Weekend availability required
- Passion for wine
- Hospitality and specifically maintaining and building guest relationships
Must be available weekdays and most weekends. Weekend availability through the Fall season is required. High School education required. Applicants must be 21+ and have the ability to lift 40+ pounds as well as stand for 8 hours at a time.
