JOB SUMMARY
The Bulk Scale House Clerk is responsible for accurately weighing, recording, and tracking all inbound and outbound bulk wine and juice shipments at the winery. This role ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining detailed and organized documentation. The clerk serves as a key point of communication between production, logistics, and shipping teams, helping to coordinate the efficient flow of materials and maintain inventory accuracy. Attention to detail, strong data entry skills, and commitment to safety and compliance are essential in this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Operate the truck scale system to weigh incoming and outgoing bulk wine, juice, and related materials.
- Accurately record weight data and complete all required documentation for shipments, including bill of lading, weigh tickets, and compliance records.
- Verify shipment details (e.g., product type, volume, transport company) and ensure alignment with production and shipping schedules.
- Communicate effectively with truck drivers, cellar personnel, logistics coordinators, and shipping/receiving teams to coordinate load timing and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in auditing and reconciling inventory records related to bulk materials and shipments.
- Report equipment issues or irregularities to appropriate departments promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment around the scale house area.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or relevant coursework in logistics, supply chain, or business a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Working environment is both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to related equipment and noise levels.
COMPENSATION
- Hourly Pay Range Posted: $16.50 - $21.92/hr.
- Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience; skills, knowledge, and abilities; education; and other position related factors.
