Pay Rate: $25-$28/hour
Schedule: 8am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri
Job Summary:
The Cellar Worker contributes to the winery's cellar operations for wine production. This position assists with all facets of the winemaking process, working closely with the Winemaker and Assistant Winemaker to maintain quality and cleanliness standards, support seasonal harvest operations, and ensure cellar activities are conducted efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities of the Cellar Worker:
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the winery, before, during, and after all tasks.
- Accurately complete work orders as assigned by the Assistant Winemaker and/or Winemaker.
- Monitor and maintain wine quality in coordination with the winemaking team.
- Safely operate all winery machinery and report any incidents immediately.
- Assist in grape reception and wine production activities during harvest.
- Pump-overs, punch-downs, racking, and additions to wine, juice, and must
- Clarify, pump, and blend juice and wine
- Operation and maintenance of filters, pumps, presses, and hoses
- Barrel work (filling, emptying, topping, cleaning, and maintenance)
- Forklift operation
Requirements:
- At least 21 years of age
- 2–3 harvests’ experience in a quality-focused winery operation required; 2–3 additional years of winery experience a plus.
- Self-motivated with excellent team collaboration abilities.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Degree in Enology, Viticulture, Chemistry, Biology, or Fermentation Science preferred.
- Experience working with premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production is highly desirable.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Strong multitasking and time-management abilities.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs independently; up to 100 lbs (e.g., wine barrels) with assistance.
