We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual to join our team as a Wine Curator. This position is an integral part of the hospitality program at both the Salon and the Estate at Heitz Cellar, reporting to the Director of Hospitality. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Sales & Membership Growth
Drive revenue by actively promoting and selling wine, memberships, and non-wine products, with a strong focus on closing sales and upselling. Accurately process transactions, maintain customer records, and collect guest contact information for future engagement.
Luxury Hospitality & Guest Experience
Deliver a Michelin-caliber experience by sharing the Heitz story and wine expertise in an engaging manner. Provide seamless, luxury-level service across all guest interactions, managing multiple groups at once. Ensure a warm welcome and expertly guide guests through wine and food pairings.
Operations & Events
Manage reservations via Tock, provide phone coverage, and maintain accurate inventory. Oversee daily operations, including setup, cleanup, and tasting experiences. Support private and winery-hosted events and represent Heitz Cellar at offsite functions.
Professionalism & Problem-Solving
Uphold accountability, adaptability, and integrity. Handle guest concerns with professionalism, resolve issues swiftly, and contribute to a high-performing team environment.
Qualifications
Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years’ experience in luxury hospitality or retail sales.
Proven sales ability with a track record of building lasting client relationships.
Strong teamwork and independence, excelling in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, special events, and extended shifts as needed.
Punctual and reliable, adhering to safety regulations and operating procedures.
Passion for wine with a willingness to learn and grow.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry weights of up to 40 pounds at varying frequencies.
- Ability to operate various machinery types to include, but not limited to, dishwashers, leaf blowers, etc.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Eligible for additional tips, commissions and wine club commissions
Compensation: From $22.00 to $24.00 per hour
