Winery Tasting Room Sales & Retail Manager
Georgia Winery is conducting a search for an experienced and enthusiastic Tasting Room Sales & Retail Manager near Chattanooga, Tennessee. This position will be responsible for overseeing operations of retail tasting room(s) and managing staff performance.
The Tasting Room Manager will be the face of Georgia Winery. This person works directly with the owners and managers to grow the business through a variety of marketing and sales activities and will lead a team of employees, oversee daily operations of the winery customer areas, budget, inventory, safety, and maintenance of the facility. This role will also include providing all the necessary training for sales floor employees.

Job Duties/Qualifications + Skills:
· Required: Minimum of 3 years of successful management experience in restaurant/ service/ retail/hospitality/ wine industries
· Someone who is a balance of both Task and People oriented. For example, someone who is detailed with computers and procedures yet also performs well hands on.
· Is a natural leader who can manage and engage staff and customers with great interpersonal skills
· Is a champion of exceptional customer service and has innate ability to problem solve
· Extremely organized, able to multi-task many priorities, and gets tasks accomplished efficiently
· Driven, motivated, determined, can-do attitude, positive attitude, team player, and hardworking
· Effective management skills to supervise staff and maintain high morale
· Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time and be able to lift 35+ pounds
· Weekends and Holidays are a requirement as well as being flexible - Is able to work varied hours/ days and is willing to be on call during all hours of operations for assistance as needed
· Proficient in email, POS, filling, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs are required as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Administrative proficiency in handling paperwork, scheduling, and inventory control.

Roles and Responsibilities:
This is a multi-faceted role that covers the following:
· Sales Associate Manager: Overseeing day to day operations and staff of Georgia Winery and support for the wine booth at Rock City. Assisting staff members and all other managers/ departments as needed.
Supervise, Train, and Scheduling of Employees:
- Monitor attendance and assuming responsibility to find coverage and/or cover on uncovered shifts
- Responsible for all hiring needs and employee separations
- Day-today scheduling of all front end staff
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
- Supervise and train staff, providing guidance on customer service and sales techniques
- Ensure all staff understands and follows policies, procedures, and regulations
- Ensures quality and consistency of our wines, staff, operations, and customer experience
- Establishing and enforcing superior customer service
- Utilizes team members for their strengths to get all tasks completed
- Establishes sales goals + cost controls. Develop and implement sales strategies to increase revenue and enhance guest experiences.
- Conduct interviews for new staff members, ensuring the selection of qualified candidates.
· Sales Associate: serving wine tastings to a wide variety of customers
· Office Role: Computer tasks for administration- including anything related to retail sales as well as general winery support, advertising, and participation in marketing and social media activities, and wholesale orders.
· Consistently overseeing implementation and execution of policies and procedures.
· Ensuring excellence in store organization and cleanliness.
· Works closely with management team to respond to business needs and initiatives. Can execute all requirements for projects in your department.
· Manage and troubleshoot all operational, staffing, and equipment related issues. Can solve problems on own and great decision making based upon profit and quality.
· Focus on driving sales and profitability, remain on budget and minimize loss and waste.
· Excellent communication and follow up. A solid tasting room manager for Georgia Winery conveys information daily to keep team members informed and management informed.
· Comfortable in food service and retail environment and has a “can do” attitude to accomplish projects and improvements that adds value to the company.
· Event Management: Plan and execute wine-related events and private tastings. Coordinate with vendors and staff to ensure seamless event execution.
· Maintain administrative tasks such as inventory management, scheduling, and cash register operations.
· Negotiate with vendors for supplies and services as needed to optimize operations.
· Monitor performance metrics and provide feedback to staff to improve service quality.
