Carter Mountain Orchard offers a gorgeous work setting with a view. We serve wines made from our own grapes in Albemarle County; welcoming locals and visitors from all over the world.
THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION - STARTING IMMEDIATELY AND GOING THROUGH MID-NOVEMBER.
Under the direction of your manager, you will be responsible for effectively and knowledgeably promoting the sale of wine and non-wine products and providing a meaningful experience for all guests.
Duties include, but not limited too:
- Greet all visitors, explain our wines, and interact with guests
- Pour glasses and flights of wine, open bottles for guests to consume on premises
- Conduct sales transactions using POS system
- Upsell complementary merchandise, food, and promotional items
- Enforce and comply with all ABC and company policies
- Take initiative for industry self-development
- Ensure every visitor has a meaningful and positive experience
Essential Skills:
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and speech
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Natural sales ability and outgoing personality - this is a sales position
- Knowledge and love of wine a plus
- Prior related experience a plus
- Hospitality experience a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move 40 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Move heavy objects
- Understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions
