Part-Time Position, Weekend Availability Required

Fallen Tree Vineyard is looking for a dependable, organized, and food-focused Kitchen Manager to lead our small but important winery food program. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing high-quality small plates, sandwiches, pizzas, and seasonal menu items in a warm, hospitality-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and plating menu items such as charcuterie boards, sandwiches, pizzas, small plates, and seasonal specials
- Maintaining consistent food quality, portioning, presentation, and guest experience
- Helping develop simple, creative, wine-friendly menu items and weekend specials
- Ordering food, ingredients, paper goods, and kitchen supplies as needed
- Coordinating grocery shopping, vendor pickups, and local product sourcing
- Working with local vendors and partners when needed
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
- Following proper food safety, sanitation, storage, and labeling procedures
- Monitoring inventory, minimizing waste, and communicating supply needs in advance
- Preparing food for regular tasting room service, wine club events, private events, and special events
- Managing kitchen opening and closing procedures
- Communicating clearly with tasting room staff to help food service run smoothly
- Supporting a calm, positive, team-oriented environment, especially during busy service periods
Qualifications
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prepare attractive, high-quality food in a consistent and efficient manner
- Comfort working independently and taking ownership of kitchen operations
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to manage inventory, plan ahead, and keep the kitchen stocked and ready
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift food, supplies, and kitchen items as needed
- A passion for good food, thoughtful presentation, and guest hospitality
- ServSafe or similar food safety certification is preferred, but not required
Schedule
- This is a part-time position with weekend availability required. Minimum availability should include key weekend tasting room service days, especially Saturdays and Sundays. Additional weekday shifts may be available for prep, events, ordering, vendor pickups, and special projects.
- A possible schedule may include:
- Wednesday or Thursday for prep, ordering, and vendor coordination
- Saturday and Sunday for kitchen service
- Optional Friday evening shifts or special event shifts as needed
