Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The Part-Time Semi Driver is responsible for safely transporting wine, materials, and supplies between winery facilities, warehouses, and distribution locations. This position plays an essential role in ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while upholding the winery’s commitment to quality, safety, and professionalism.
- Operate a semitruck to transport wine, packaging materials, and related goods between locations as scheduled.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment and procedures to prevent product damage.
- Fill and haul water truck.
- Verify load accuracy, secure cargo, and ensure proper documentation is completed for each delivery.
- Inspect vehicle before and after trips to ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team, production staff, and external partners to coordinate deliveries.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, mileage logs, and inspection reports in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and company safety and driving regulations.
- Represent the winery professionally at all times, maintaining courteous interactions with customers and partners.
- Assist with other winery logistics or facility operations as needed.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Comply with all ASI and OSHA guidelines.
Work Schedule:
- Parttime position; schedule may vary based on production and distribution needs.
- Some early morning, evening, or weekend shifts may be required during harvest or highdemand periods.
Work Environment:
- Primarily on the road with occasional time spent at winery or warehouse locations.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including temperature and seasonal variations.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of [2] years of commercial driving experience preferred; experience with agricultural or beverage transport a plus.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor as required for loading and unloading.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
- Must be dependable, safetyfocused, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to read instructions.
- Forklift experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Physical ability to lift and carry cases of wine and other products up to 50 lbs repetitively.
