Duties:
The following duties are typical for this position. Employees may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
Customer Service:
- Greet the customer and invite them for a tasting
- Assist customers with tastings
- Provide information about our wines. (Characteristics, food pairings, awards, etc.)
- Provide Information and promote the region
- Lead Cellar Tours
- Customer Safety: Knowing when and how to tell a customer who has had too much to drink that they may not have more.
- Process customer purchases
- Offer to assist customer to vehicle with purchases
- Answer phones as necessary
- Take and process phone orders as necessary
- Assist with busses
- Offer Wine Club and Loyalty Club opportunities to customer
Tasting Room Duties:
- Opening and closing procedures of the Tasting Room
- Tidying and stocking of wine, food and gift items
- Maintenance of the Bar
- Prepare Gift baskets
- Make sure food items are available for sampling
- Preparation of food trays for busses
- Track bottles used at the bar
- Assist with Ft. Leonard Wood training
- Assist as needed with inventory
- Assure that literature is available for customers
- Cleaning as needed (throughout the day and at the end of the day)
- Laundry as needed
- Washing dishes/glasses
- Maintain supplies at registers
- Ongoing Education and training
Qualifications:
The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.
- Must be 21 years of age
- Prior experience in Customer Service and Retail Sales is preferred
- Outgoing, Fun and willing to go the extra mile.
- Ability to work individually or in a team environment
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Training:
Must complete the following training and be able to put the subject matter into practice daily in the Tasting Room.
- TIPS
- Wine Professionals
- Tours: Taught by Lead Training Associate
- Tastings
- Basic order completion
Tier I Promotion Eligibility Expectations:
- Ability to do tastings
- Basic Wine knowledge
- Knowledge of Company history
- Tours on your own
- Ability to take basic orders for Customer Service on paper forms
- Ring up wholesale accounts

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a retail setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach,and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment to include a register system requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computerkeyboard. Must be able to verbally communicate and exchange information.
