Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Napa, CA, combining a year-round cellar staff position. Day-to-day duties include performing routine cellar operations such as cleaning and sanitizing tanks and equipment, racking and transferring wine and juice, topping barrels, and monitoring fermentations under the direction of the winemaking team. The role also involves operating pumps and hoses, assisting with filtration and bottling, maintaining accurate production records, and adhering to all safety and quality protocols. During harvest, responsibilities expand to include grape receiving and sorting, crushing and pressing, fermentation management (including cap management and additions), and extended hours as needed to support the winemaking schedule. The position requires regular lifting, standing, and working in a physically demanding, hands-on environment, both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

Previous cellar, winery, or beverage production experience is strongly preferred; a genuine interest in winemaking and learning cellar operations is essential.
Ability to safely perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, working at heights, and standing for extended periods in a wet, noisy environment.
Comfort with basic equipment operation and maintenance (pumps, hoses, presses, forklifts or willingness to train), with a strong focus on cleanliness and sanitation.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately while maintaining production records.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended shifts during harvest.
Effective teamwork and communication skills, with a professional, respectful approach to colleagues and a commitment to a safe, inclusive workplace.
Valid authorization to work in the United States; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Napa, CA are preferred.
Relevant education or coursework in enology, viticulture, or a related field is a plus but not required.
