I describe myself as a hard-working professional with a history of success covering over 20 years in the wine and spirits industry. Having worked in management positions on both the wholesale and supplier side, I feel I have positioned myself to be very successful in the next stage of my career.
The best way to capture my philosophy as it relates to the industry is to sum up my approach to each level of the three-tier system:
Retailers: Consultative. Their success breeds our success. Pairing the right brands with the right customers is the benchmark for a long, healthy and mutually beneficial business relationship. Being able to extract a degree of ownership over the success of our brands while exhibiting a sense of ownership over their success breeds a trust that delivers the desired results for all.
Wholesalers: Collaborative. As our wholesalers become bigger, their networks become stronger and their resources become more insightful, we need to work together to develop long term strategies that feed our brand health and grow our market share. Finding the right balance between delivering the results needed today while also fostering the growth of tomorrow is the way to achieve true success. The clearer the wholesaler is on the idea that they are responsible for both, the better positioned our brands will be for long term health.
Supplier: Healthy, Organic growth. The majority of brands driving the growth in the industry today were built the right way from the ground up. The brands that are driving the decline of their categories got this way because of bad decision-making stemming from faulty expectations as to where a brand is in its life-cycle. Successfully managing a brand from incubation through full development while being completely aware of what the consumer is demanding each step of the way is the only way to maximize profitability and category share.
