The Grower Relations Representative is responsible for designated region(s)/brands as assigned. Ensuring delivery of high-quality grapes that meet winery quality standards, annual supply requirements and long-range planning goals. In addition, this position cultivates strong, ongoing grower relationships through excellent communication and professional approach with a solid knowledge of Viticulture and annual business cycle.

What we will ask you to do:

Cultivate and maintain a professional, effective, and mutually beneficial working relationship between Duckhorn Wine Company and Growers.
Maintain proactive and regular communication with Grower Relations Manager, Supply Planning Team and Winemaking Teams about grape markets and season dynamics.
Accountable for timely crop development monitoring and proactive communication regarding seasonal risks, adherence to contractual terms and cultural practice standards.
Responsible for annual crop yield estimates at key phenological stages, with context to overall supply requirements and grower contract terms
Maintain and develop grower vineyard maps and data management as required.
Responsible for coordinating harvest with winemaking and growers, harvest maturity sampling schedule, winery receiving schedules, and bin logistics with growers.
Organize annual reviews of wines and grower tastings to evolve and adjust viticultural strategies to optimize wine quality and cost directives.
Provide input for contract strategy and negotiations with guidance from the Grower Relations Manager and executing grape contracts in a timely, accurate and strategic manner.

What you will need:

BS in Viticulture or related Science
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Viticulture and Grower Relations
Valid California driver’s license with clean record
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Desire and capacity to learn negotiation skills
Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
Ability and desire to learn new computer platforms.
Must be willing to work flexible schedule with extended hours at key times of the year.
