Freeland Spirits is a women-owned and operated distillery, proudly crafting small-batch spirits with a commitment to sustainability, quality, and community. We're excited to open a new tasting room in Bend, OR, and we're seeking a dynamic and experienced Tasting Room Manager to join our team.
Job Summary: The Tasting Room Manager will oversee all daily operations of our new tasting room at the Box Factory, starting with a pop-up bar concept that will evolve into a full-scale tasting room with expanded features and improvements planned for 2025. This role is key to delivering an exceptional guest experience, building brand loyalty, and driving sales growth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craft spirits, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing tasting rooms, retail environments, or hospitality businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management: Manage day-to-day operations of the tasting room, ensuring smooth service, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and addressing any operational challenges.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise tasting room staff. Create and maintain staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for events, tastings, and peak times. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Guest Experience: Ensure every guest receives a memorable and personalized experience. Uphold high standards of hospitality, lead by example, and handle any guest feedback or concerns.
- Sales & Promotions: Drive sales by actively promoting Freeland Spirits products. Execute tasting programs, special events, and brand promotions. Collaborate with marketing to develop and implement local marketing strategies.
- Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor and manage product inventory, ensuring that stock levels are maintained, and items are reordered in a timely manner. Coordinate with the production team for restocking.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all tasting room activities comply with state and local regulations, including liquor laws and health and safety standards.
- Event Coordination: Plan and execute events at the tasting room, from small private gatherings to larger promotional events. Work with the marketing team to promote events and ensure successful execution.
- Financial Management: The Tasting Room Manager will collaborate with the Director of Finance to manage tasting room budgets, track sales performance, and ensure financial goals are met.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in tasting room management, hospitality, or retail management (5+ years preferred).
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for craft spirits, and knowledge of the spirits, wine, or beverage industry.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale systems, inventory management, and basic financial reporting.
- Must be 21+ and hold or be willing to obtain OLCC service permit.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
