Mountain Brook Vineyards is a family-owned winery nestled in the Tryon Foothills of North Carolina, just minutes from the Tryon International Equestrian Center, less than an hour from Greenville, Spartanburg, and Asheville, and less than 90 minutes from Charlotte. The purpose of this position is to assist with the day-to-day operation of the Mountain Brook Vineyards tasting room. This job involves upholding the steps of service to create a memorable guest experience. A Tasting Room Associate is very much a “Winery Ambassador” that guides the guest through their Mountain Brook experience.
- Provides an exceptional guest service experience for each visitor by greeting and welcoming all guests in a warm and sincere manner; doing everything possible to ensure a memorable and pleasant guest experience.
- Create a unique tasting experience for each guest by engaging guests in the wine lists and assisting guests in selecting the wines that fit the guest’s wine preferences.
- Possess general understanding of the wine making process and Mountain Brook portfolio.
- Up sell and cross sell wines and merchandise, including quantity discounts.
- Promotes the Wine Club and accurately conveys all information regarding the club to guests.
- Assist in setup and breakdown of winery events.
- Extend a pleasant and sincere farewell and thank you to all guests.
- Prepare the Tasting Room for the days’ activities.
- Routinely assist in the cleaning of dishware, glassware, and other Tasting Room necessities.
- Keep a safe, clean, and neat work area.
- Accurately track wine inventory/usage, including flight pours and overall inventory, when requested
- Stock wines & serving materials, clean, and close the Tasting Room at the end of the day. Ensure garbage/recycles are taken down regularly
- Communicate any guest or employee concerns to management
- Due to the high volume of guests and the high-profile nature of the job, the employee must be able to multitask and be very attentive to their surroundings.

- Previous experience in winery environment or hospitality operations preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
- Ability to lift/carry weight up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
