ABOUT THIS WINE TENDER ROLE
This customer service position at our vineyard offers part-time and full-time shifts from Wednesday through Sunday, 11:30 am to 9:00 pm. We serve lunch and dinner six days a week, with Mondays closed. Shifts include weekends, days, and evenings, providing flexibility for a variety of availability.
As a Wine Tender at our winery, you start your day by ensuring the bar is clean, stocked, and ready for service. You expertly manage orders, serving correct pours and following proper procedures. You engage with guests, providing detailed information about wines, tasting notes, pairings, regions, and production methods, while making personalized recommendations from our vineyard's wine portfolio.
You discuss club options, wine flights, and special events, and describe dishes from the food menu, offering ideal pairings. Checking IDs, operating the POS system, and handling transactions accurately is part of your responsibilities. You maintain the cleanliness of the bar, stock glasses, and wines, and complete assigned side work. Throughout the day, you support our winery's team members as needed, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all guests.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A WINE TENDER
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information about wines in an approachable and engaging manner
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a friendly and helpful attitude toward customers
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Flexibility to work various shifts and days of the week, including holidays and weekends
- Passionate and knowledgeable about wine
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
- TIPS Certification
- Experience in a full-service restaurant, wine bar, or tasting room (preferred)
