Windridge Vineyards is a family-owned winery that produces artisanal wines and provides exceptional customer experiences. Located in Germantown, MD, just 40 minutes from Washington, D.C. Since 2011, we have expanded our business to three vineyards totaling over 30 acres. Our farm winery officially opened for retail sales in 2019, followed by the completion of our Tasting Room in 2020.
Our primary business focus is to ensure that our customers are able to enjoy our wines and lite fare while visiting our farm winery. To execute our sales plan and ensure the success of our business model, we strive to provide premium wines, an effortless experience, and an educational experience for all.
Seasonal Wine Associate Job Description:
We are seeking a server who will act as the main point of contact when selling our wine to our customers. Servers are responsible for crafting a memorable experience and educating each customer about our story and our wines. As part of our Tasting Room team, this position requires enthusiasm for wine, the ability to work well with others, and maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall customer experience, from serving the wine to ensuring that every customer has a positive and memorable experience.
- Educate our customers on our wines and our story.
- Maintain professional and personable communication skills and demeanor while on shift.
- Deliver a personable and professional wine-tasting experience.
- Sign up new wine club members and handle wine club transactions.
- Adhere to responsible pouring practices and make accurate pours.
- Adhere to all Tasting Room Standard Operating Procedures.
- Complete honest and accurate card, cash, and wine transactions.
- Properly manage and track wine inventories to prevent loss or theft.
- Clean and disinfect bar tops, tables, and chairs between guest visits.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked bar, Tasting Room, Pavilion, and customer areas.
- Assist with the bussing and host duties as needed.
- Adhere to tasks given by Managers or leads.
- Work as a team with all other staff members.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Great communication skills, confident and professional manner.
- At least 1-year prior experience in comparable high-end hospitality and sales is preferred.
- Knowledge of point of sale and reservation systems is desired.
- Must be technology savvy.
- Must be organized, a self-starter, and great with time management.
- Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral directions.
- Must be able to stand, kneel, and bend for long periods of time (6+ hours/day) and have the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Must possess a valid driver's license or ID card.
- Schedule: Must be available on weekends and holidays.
- On-site position only, remote work not available.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
