Housed in a beautifully restored 1800s engine house, our venue combines rustic architectural charm with refined elegance, hosting everything from weddings and high-profile corporate galas to intimate wine tastings and community fundraisers.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and detail-oriented Events & Winery Manager to oversee the end-to-end strategy, planning, sales, and execution of all events at Engine House 25.
As the Events Manager, you will serve as the primary face of the venue for clients and vendors. You will manage incoming sales inquiries, host venue tours, guide clients through the coordination process, and lead on-site execution during events. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, brings strong leadership skills, and possesses an eye for detail.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Sales & Client Relations
- Lead Generation & Sales: Respond promptly to incoming private event inquiries, qualify leads, and conduct engaging on-site tours of Engine House 25.
- Contracting & Budgeting: Prepare customized event proposals, draft contracts, manage invoicing, and track deposit schedules.
- Client Consultation: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the entire planning lifecycle—floor plans, timelines, and vendor coordination.
Planning & Vendor Management
- Vendor Coordination: Maintain strong working relationships with preferred caterers, florists, event rental companies, and partner breweries. Ensure external vendors comply with venue policies and insurance requirements.
- Operations Logistics: Build detailed event run-of-shows, floor plans, and beverage
- Payroll & Usage Tracking: Submit monthly report containing hours, tips and commission, bottle usage, bottles sold, and bottles shipped in PA.
On-Site Event Execution
- Event Operations: Supervise set-up, vendor load-in, event execution, break-down, and load-out to ensure events strictly adhere to schedules and safety standards.
- Team Leadership: Manage and schedule event bartenders. Conduct pre-event briefings to ensure flawless service standards.
- Guest Experience: Act as the primary on-site decision-maker during events, resolving guest inquiries or unforeseen operational issues quickly and professionally.
Winery Management
- Winemaking: Assist with all winemaking duties, including bottling, corking, labeling, crushing and pressing grapes.
- Retail: Ensure that the on-site store is adequately stocked. Oversee online sales, local pickups and shipping.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain the organization of the wine cellar while ensuring that the kitchen, restrooms, furniture, and flooring remain pristine.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in hospitality management, event planning, or venue management.
- Schedule Flexibility: Willingness and ability to work a non-standard schedule, including late nights, weekends, and holidays, based on event bookings.
- Certifications: Current RAMP (Responsible Alcohol Management Program) certification and ServSafe certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with QuickBooks, Google Suite, and Square POS system.
- Physical Capability: Ability to stand and move for extended periods (8+ hours) and lift up to 40 lbs when necessary during event set-up and break-down.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication, negotiation skills, and a warm, hospitality-focused attitude.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Base salary commensurate with experience ($25,000 – $30,000/year), plus commission/bonus/tips structure on event sales.
