Overview:
The Production Manager is responsible for developing and executing seasonal product based on Design, Creative, and Merchandising’s strategic visions. They are responsible for the end-to-end process beginning with product development to execution and ultimately delivery for their specified departments. They ensure all product meets vineyard vines price and quality standards from the initial material and styling stages through the manufacturing and delivery stage. The manager is able to multi-task in a fast paced environment to ensure thoughtful decisions are made and proper execution is performed in order to meet calendar and key milestone deadlines.
You Will:
- Source and onboard new factories for the department as directed by the supervisor
- Identify vendors for product development based on sourcing strategy and vendor capabilities
- Monitor and record all development in alignment to the seasonal scorecard
- Source and develop new fabrics and trims for the season
- Oversee and engage in product development tasks, ie. approve labels and tags, manage development tracking charts, track pre-production approvals with design, and partner with Technical Design on the timing of development packages
- Conduct product development review meetings for the cross-functional teams
- Monitor cost and IMU for the department
- Communicate to internal and external partners and vendors in a clear and timely manner
- Oversee and engage in production operations, ie. issue purchase orders, and ensure all product is tested
- Leverage our PLM system to track development, TNA and deliveries
- Drive strategic production projects
- Collaborate with merchants and planners on the monthly buy process
- Collaborate with logistics on delivery concerns
- Troubleshoot delivery and development issues
- Identify and fulfill opportunities for process, lead-time, costing, and quality improvement
What you Bring:
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Former experience managing a direct report
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to balance multiple competing priorities and maintain composure under pressure while remaining flexible
- Ability to respond to change positively
- Capable of seeing the larger picture and understanding how your role impacts and influences the larger business
- Strong time management skills
