Wimberley Valley Winery is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Chef to lead and elevate our growing culinary program. Our winery features a food truck specializing in wood-fired pizzas, fine dining experiences with wine pairings, and event catering. We are expanding our food operations, and we need a dynamic and creative chef to help drive that growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead culinary operations, including menu creation for wood-fired pizzas, fine dining events, and catered functions.
- Collaborate closely with the winery team to design food and wine pairings that enhance the guest experience.
- Oversee the food truck and fine dining operations, ensuring quality, consistency, and innovation.
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to foster a productive work environment.
- Manage and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and development.
- Plan, order, and manage inventory while maintaining cost control.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with event teams to create customized menus for winery events and private functions.
- Develop seasonal menus that reflect local ingredients, trends, and winery offerings.
- Monitor kitchen operations to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation.
- Provide leadership in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe kitchen environment.
- Stay current with culinary trends and continuously innovate offerings to keep the winery’s food program fresh and exciting.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a leadership role in the culinary industry, with a focus on fine dining, catering, and wood-fired cooking.
- Strong knowledge of wine and food pairings.
- Excellent management, leadership, and communication skills.
- Passion for creating high-quality, seasonal, and innovative dishes.
- Ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently, including staff management, inventory, and ordering.
- High standards of hygiene and sanitation.
- Strong work ethic, creative vision, and a desire to drive business growth.
