Cellar Hand – Maui Wine
We are seeking an entry level, detail-oriented Cellar Hand. In this hands-on role, you will support our winemaking team in many aspects of winemaking — from harvest and fermentation through bottling. This position is responsible for executing assigned cellar practices and operations with the highest regard for safety, sanitation, precision and QC standards at every step.
Under supervision you will assist with transfers, blending and filtration. This is a role for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates proactively, and understands that there is always something more to be done. Day to day, you will work to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and readiness of our cellar, tanks, facilities and equipment.
Tasks Include but are not limited to:
· Fruit crushing and wine processing operations
· Harvest and receiving fruit
· Performs routine operations using pumps and filters, to rack, transfer and clarify juice and wine
· Perform tank work including prepping, filling, topping, cleaning/sanitation of inventory records
· Responsible for the sanitation of all areas of the cellar operations including tanks, floors, fittings and winery equipment
· Assisting in vineyard fruit operations
Skills, Qualifications and Experiences Desired:
· Experience with operating and caring for small equipment
· A natural aptitude for cleanliness and organization
· Strong listening, speaking and recordkeeping skills
· Able to follow detailed verbal and written instructions
· A team player that assists others in all aspects of the processing
· Forklift experience preferred
· Follows and observes safety and sanitation policies and procedures
· Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
This is a Fulltime position. Typical working hours are 7 – 3:30 M – F; flexibility is required during harvest and busy production days which could include OT and weekend work
Requirements:
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
· Able to work in a wet environment
· Climb stairs and stand for long periods
· Clean driving record and reliable transportation
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
