Studio Production Lead at Outshinery
Type: Contractor · Remote · Part-time (~4 hours/day, Monday to Friday) Timezone: CET / UTC+1–2 (Europe, South Africa, or similar) Start: As soon as the right person is found
What Outshinery does
Outshinery produces photorealistic 3D product imagery for wine, beer, spirits, and RTD brands. No cameras, no physical product required. We use Hollywood-grade CGI to deliver images that are faster, more consistent, and more scalable than traditional photography. Over 2,000 beverage brands trust us to represent their products.
Our Studio service is human-led. A trained team reviews every render, preps every proof, and delivers every final image to exacting standards. You'd be joining that team.
The role
We're looking for a Studio Production Lead to own the daily production loop.
Every morning, you'll review completed 3D renders from our artist team, prepare client proofs, handle revision feedback, and prep final exports, all before the team in North America starts their day. You are the bridge between our 3D artists (Vietnam, South Africa, North Macedonia) and our clients worldwide.
This is not a creative direction role. It's a production precision role. The volume is consistent and the pace is real: dozens of proofs and exports move through your hands every morning. The work requires visual judgment, wine packaging knowledge, Photoshop proficiency, and the ability to read a client's vague comment and turn it into a clear, actionable instruction for a 3D artist.
At Outshinery, the details are the product. The fill line. The foil catch. The label texture at 100%. We are obsessed with the last 5%, and this person is what keeps that standard from slipping.
You don't wait to be told something looks wrong. You flag it before it leaves your queue.
What you'll do each day
- Review completed 3D renders against client briefs, flagging anything that looks off before it reaches the client
- Create proof JPEGs from layered Photoshop files using action scripts, and upload them to Airtable with the correct status and file naming
- Interpret client revision requests and translate them into precise instructions for the correct 3D artist
- Prep final image exports (TIFF, PNG, and JPEG) and hand them off to the account management team for delivery
- Maintain accurate task status and tagging in Asana throughout the workflow
What we need from you
Non-negotiables:
- Strong, fluent English, written and spoken. You are the communication bridge between international clients and our production team. This is the most important requirement.
- Wine and beverage packaging vocabulary. You need to know the difference between a natural cork, a DIAM closure, and an agglomerated cork. You need to know what a tin capsule is, what hot stamping means, what a screwcap looks like in a 3D render. If this language is foreign to you, this role is not the right fit.
- Solid Photoshop skills. Not retouching from scratch. You're working with layered production files, running action scripts, organizing and naming layers cleanly, making minor adjustments. Clean file discipline is non-negotiable.
Also important:
- Visual literacy. You can look at a render and identify what needs to change before the client sees it.
- Patience for iterative revision cycles. This work repeats and requires consistency, not speed.
- Reliable internet and power infrastructure. Daily production depends on you being available every morning.
How to apply
We review every application carefully. To make sure this is a mutual fit, we ask for two things:
1. A short application form. You'll answer a few specific questions about beverage packaging and production workflows. These are not trick questions. They're designed to show us whether you have the vocabulary and judgment this role requires. Answer in your own words. Apply here: https://forms.gle/jgWGfHbBMLKxeELD8
2. A 2-3 minute Loom video. Walk us through a retouching or image production project you've worked on. Show us the file if you can, explain what the brief was, what you did, and why. We want to hear you think out loud. This is the single most useful thing you can send us. If you have an online portfolio or LinkedIn profile that shows your work, include that link too.
No cover letter needed. Just the form, the Loom, and any links you'd like us to see.
