Position Summary
We are seeking a Digital Communications Manager to help communicate our story, deepen engagement with our audience, and curate experiences that reflect our dedication to quality and craft. This role will lead our digital storytelling and subscriber communications efforts while actively participating in tasting room and event programming. Tasks will be carried out with clarity, sophistication, and a deep respect for the integrity of our brand. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and creative executor who understands the intersection of digital communication, wine culture, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Social Media (60%)
- Develop and execute a thoughtful, visually-driven social media strategy that reflects the ethos of Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard.
- Create original photo, video, and editorial content highlighting the seasonality of the vineyard, cellar work, team culture, wine education, and guest experiences.
- Uphold a cohesive visual identity and voice across all digital platforms (Instagram, Facebook, email, and web content).
- Foster community through active engagement, thoughtful responses, and strategic content partnerships.
- Monitor analytics to refine and improve performance across platforms.
Events & Tasting Room Activities (30%)
- Assist in planning and executing on-site and off-site events that express the identity and quality of the winery — including intimate tastings, release events, industry visits, and trade/media activations.
- Collaborate with the hospitality and production teams to ensure all events are aligned with brand standards and service philosophy.
- Manage event logistics, guest communications, and promotional materials.
- Evaluate event performance and guest feedback to inform future programming.
- Periodic shifts in the Tasting Room to stay engaged with our wines, guest and hospitality
Marketing Strategy & Brand Stewardship (10%)
- Support the development and execution of seasonal campaigns, product launches, and communications.
- Maintain consistency and excellence across all customer-facing materials, including newsletters, website content, tasting room collateral, and PR initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with ownership and senior leadership on brand integrity and long-term positioning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in marketing, ideally in the wine industry or luxury hospitality.
- Strong visual sensibility and understanding of brand storytelling.
- Proven ability to manage events with professionalism and grace.
- Proficiency in social media platforms, scheduling tools, and design software (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva).
- Excellent written communication and project management skills.
- Enthusiasm for wine, sustainable agriculture, and the Finger Lakes region.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
