Deer Run Winery is seeking a candidate to work alongside our winemaker as part of the wine production team.
The Position Includes
- Tending the vineyard - this is done year-round as the vines go through different stages of growth and dormancy
- Harvest - the fruit is picked by hand when the grapes are ripe in the Fall months
- Wine production work - this involves lifting up to 50 pounds, processing grapes, sanitizing hoses, sanitizing tanks and wine barrels, filtering large volumes of wine in preparation for the bottle
- Bottling - An assembly line style of bottling done a few times per year involves filling bottles using a filler machine, corking or encapsulating, labeling and palletizing cases of wine
We are seeking a long-term candidate as the position takes over a full-year to see and learn the different aspects of grape growing to wine making to bottling. We are willing to train the right candidate who has a passion to learn about the wine industry and is hard-working mentally and physically.
Pay is $16 - $18 per hour based on experience.
