Mountain Brook Vineyard, a premier family-owned North Carolina winery, is opening a new tasting room in the coastal town of Emerald Isle (located at 201 Islander Dr. A1, Emerald Isle, NC). While the main vineyard estate is located in the scenic Tryon Foothills of North Carolina, the family also has local connections in Emerald Isle and decided to expand our hospitality to the Emerald Coast.

The Tasting Room Lead position is responsible for leading day-to-day operation of our Emerald Isle tasting room, working under the direction of the Guest Experience Manager. This role focuses on delivering each step of customer service with care to ensure a memorable and elevated guest experience. A Tasting Room Lead is not only a “Winery Ambassador” who guides the guest through their Mountain Brook experience, but also has responsibilities to ensure that opening, operating, and closing procedures are followed. The Tasting Room Lead has responsibility for ensuring all safety and service protocols are followed at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Working under the direction of the Guest Experience Manager for Emerald Isle, responsible for daily operations of Tasting Room, including all aspects of guest services and business function.
· Responsible for all safety and service protocol execution, including ensuring proper maintenance and operation of physical facility and implementation of security and ABC server training protocols.
· Responsible for execution of opening and closing procedures, including cash drawer reconciliation and inventory.
· Responsible for managing customer dispute resolutions as needed.
· Assist with social media and other communications channels with guests and community, including phone/voicemail management, monitoring and responding to email and other channels of communications with guests.
· Provides an exceptional guest service experience for each visitor by greeting and serving all guests in a warm and sincere manner; doing everything possible to ensure a memorable and pleasant guest experience.
· Create a unique tasting experience for each guest by educating guests on the wine lists and assisting guests in selecting the wines that fit the guest’s wine preferences.
· Possess general understanding of the wine making process and Mountain Brook wine portfolio.
· Upsell and cross-sell wines and merchandise, including quantity discounts.
· Promote the Wine Club and accurately convey all information regarding the Club to guests.
· Assist in setup and breakdown of Tasting Room service and events.
· Extend a pleasant and sincere farewell and thank you to all guests.
· Prepare and close the Tasting Room for and after the days’ activities.
· Assist in the cleaning of dishware, glassware, and other Tasting Room operation necessities.
· Keep a safe, clean, and neat work area.
· Accurately track wine inventory/usage, including flight pours and overall inventory, when requested.
· Stock wines and serving materials, clean, and close the Tasting Room at the end of the day. Ensure garbage and recycling are taken out regularly.
· Communicate any guest or employee concerns to management.
· Due to the high volume of guests and the high-profile nature of the job, the employee must be able to multitask and be very attentive to their surroundings.
