Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. This role requires a highly organized individual with experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and shipping/receiving. The Material Handler will be responsible for verifying and maintaining records of shipments, packaging customer orders, and ensuring a clean and orderly work environment. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping & Receiving:
Verify and maintain records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Record shipment data such as weight, charges, damages, or discrepancies for reporting and accounting purposes.
Receive, unpack, verify, and record incoming material per ISO standards.
Request and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain an organized inventory.
Material Handling & Inventory:
Pull material for direct production use.
Consolidate and manage inventory in a neat and orderly manner.
Maintain accurate data entry for inventory tracking and recordkeeping.
Packaging & Order Fulfillment:
Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping.
Ensure proper packaging methods and follow specific packaging requirements.
Package customer orders securely for transport, including banding and wrapping.
Safety & Work Environment:
Safely load and unload freight, ensuring careful handling of materials.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Follow all company safety protocols and regulations.
Operate Forklifts And Other Warehouse Equipment As Required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential Knowledge:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office for recordkeeping and communication.
Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse logistics.
Essential Skills:
Ability to accurately interpret packing slips and shipment documentation.
Proficiency in safe material handling and proper packaging techniques.
Experience operating a forklift.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Physical Requirements:
Lifting: Frequently lift boxes weighing up to 55 lbs. from floor to table or pallet heights.
Standing/Walking: Continuous standing and walking during a 9.5-hour shift.
Pushing/Pulling: Move stacks of parts weighing up to 200 lbs. over distances up to 100 feet.
Reaching: Perform repetitive reaching movements to handle products from crates/boxes and conveyors.
Bending/Stooping: Regular bending, squatting, and twisting required for product handling.
Wrist Manipulation: Frequent manipulation of parts for insertion/removal from machinery.
Work Environment:
The Warehouse Associate will work in a production environment that always requires safety glasses. The workspace involves temperature variations (45°F to 110°F), exposure to fumes, solvents, and dust, and occasional handling of hazardous chemicals or oils.
