VINEYARD LABORER
JOB SUMMARY
Provide reliable, consistent and safe labor to perform tasks related to the growing of wine grapes and maintenance of farm property.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plant grapevines.
- Prune, trim, thin and remove leaves of grapevines.
- Harvest fruit.
- Control weeds, repair trellis and perform other tasks as needed to grow and care for premium wine grapes.
- Property maintenance tasks which include cutting and piling brush, operating a string trimmer, operating a chainsaw, cutting and hauling firewood and building and maintaining fences.
- Other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and/or experience in vineyard management or farm operations preferred.
- Mechanical skills preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal with management and other associates.
- Must pass criminal background check.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
- Standing and/or walking on uneven outdoor terrain for extended periods of time in all weather conditions, occasionally while wearing backpack sprayer.
- Constant repetitive and strenuous motions of stooping (bending at the waist), twisting (knees, waist and neck), crouching (bending at the knees) and reaching (overhead/extension).
- Repeatedly lifting/carrying 50 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Predominantly outdoors on uneven terrain in conditions where yellow jackets, poison oak, dust and pollen are present.
- Operation of power tools.
- Exposed to fertilizers, herbicides and fungicides.
- Must adhere to all Company policies and procedures including safety.
- Must use personal protective equipment including but not limited to, footwear, safety goggles, ear plugs and gloves.
- Use proper lifting techniques.
