To greet and welcome all guests and ensure they feel relaxed and at home. Ensure that the highest standards of hospitality are demonstrated at all times through reception, wine tasting and food and beverage service functions. Compensation based on hourly rate of $12/hour plus tips!
Primary Area of Responsibility:
- Greet guests and pour wines according to established wine tasting procedures
- Describe wines, winemaking techniques and history
- Suggest and sell wine, wine tasting experiences, wine club memberships
- Book and describe offerings for special and corporate events
- Handle routine POS transactions, including operating cash registers, processing returns, discounts, employee purchases, etc.
- Stay current on winery/wine knowledge and be able to multitask
- Is sales-minded
- Checks identification of guests to ensure they meet legal requirements for purchase of alcohol products.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions.
- Performs physical activities such as lifting and stooping.
- Ensures that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for preparing beverages and serving guests.
- Attends department meetings and training.
- Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the store
- Promotes goodwill by being courteous, friendly and helpful to guests and fellow employees.
- Follows Health and Safety requirements noting that all duties must be carried out to comply with current Health & Safety at Work legislation.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Must haves:
- Positive, guest focused attitude
- Dynamic, energetic team member behavior
- Great communication; verbal, nonverbal and written
- Basic computer operating skills (PMS, POS. Word. Excel. Google Workspace)
- Able to bend, reach, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
General understanding of wine and wine service.
Knowledge of Fine dining and Up-scale Wine service is a plus!
Must have:
- TABC Certification
- Food Handlers Certifications
Nice to have:
- Wine or Beer Certifications
