Sparkman Cellars is a family-owned winery founded in 2004 and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented leader to join us as a Hospitality Lead Wine Educator. Prior experience at a winery/tasting room, restaurant or other hospitality related business is required and will help you excel in this position. Previous managerial experience is a plus.
We offer elevated, seated guest experiences similar to higher end restaurant service, but with a focus on hospitality without pretentiousness. Located in our winery and tasting room in the Old Redhook Brewery in Woodinville, Washington, we have received numerous national accolades including Wine & Spirits's Top 100 Winery in the World and several Wine Spectator Top 100Wines in the World.
A successful applicant is outgoing, positive, dependable, self-motivated, flexible, professional, able to multi-task, a team player, with a strong work ethic, excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and is comfortable with POS program applications and technology in general. Must have a love of wine and desire to learn and grow within the wine industry.
Although not required, schedule flexibility is extremely helpful. Additional details are listed below.
- This position is for Friday through Sundays, including some evenings. Please only apply if you are available to work these days consistently. Also, there is the potential for occasional additional days, if agreeable.
- $18 per hour plus tips (which average $10-14+ per hour), incentives and wine discounts

- Principal duties of the Hospitality Lead Wine Educator are to provide wine tastings, education and a memorable experience for our guests
Additional duties are, but not limited to, the following
- Exceed expectations and build relationships with our guests and wine club members
- Help execute winery events and promotions
- Assist with staff training
- Open and/or close the tasting room as needed
- General tasting room opening, closing and side-work duties
- General tasting room maintenance and upkeep
- Restocking
- Assist the Tasting Room Manager and Sparkman team as needed
Must be in good physical condition, able to stand for long periods of time and able to lift 45 lbs. (frequent heavy lifting is required). Also, must be 21 years old and obtain a valid Class 12 pourers license within 30 days of starting.
