Job Summary
We are seeking a Vineyard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to the cultivation and maintenance of wine grape vines on a new vineyard. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and working outdoors.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planting and pruning grapevines.
- Operate power tools and hand tools for vineyard maintenance.
- Perform regular beautification activities including mowing, clean-up and hauling, landscape maintenance.
- Perform irrigation tasks to ensure optimal water supply for the vines.
- Conduct regular inspections of vineyard equipment and perform basic repairs as needed. Must have a valid PA Driver License and be capable of operating a vineyard tractor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of vineyard tasks.
- Utilize basic math skills for measuring and calculating necessary quantities for mixing pesticide sprays according to the integrated pest management plan.
Skills
- Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and operating heavy equipment relevant to vineyard work.
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and maintenance.
- Experience working in a vineyard is a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work standing or walking for extended periods on rough and uneven terrain, and work in the outdoors during inclement weather.
- Basic math skills for effective task execution and record keeping.
This is an entry level position. However, the right person can use this position to develop skills and knowledge and grow to a full time position with benefits and increasing responsibility.
