We are currently seeking a Harvest Winemaking Intern to join our team for the 2025 harvest season. As a harvest winemaking intern you will have the opportunity to be involved and support the Cakebread Cellars team for harvest activities that include vineyard sampling, assessing incoming fruit quality, monitoring fermentations, checking tanks for fermentation progress and temperature settings, writing work orders, and coordinating sampling and juice/wine analyses with Enologist and Lab Tech.
Under close supervision of the Winemaker and Assistant Winemaker, the Harvest Winemaking Intern will support the Cakebread Cellars team for harvest activities that include vineyard sampling, assessing incoming fruit quality, monitoring fermentations, checking tanks for fermentation progress and temperature settings, Brix/temperature checks, writing work orders, and coordinating sampling and juice/wine analyses with Enologist and Lab Tech. Will also assist with running lab analysis and cellar operations (cleaning/sanitizing tanks and equipment, pumpovers, additions, filling/topping barrels, etc.) as needed.

Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude and be highly dependable. A college degree in Enology or related science field or minimum three years equivalent work experience in wine production required. Candidates must be flexible to work varying shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays and must work the entire crush from approximately mid-August to mid-November depending on the season. Experience with Vintrace is helpful. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly is also required.
