About this Opportunity
The Logistics Associate, working under the direction of the Logistics & Portfolio Director, supports supply chain operations to optimize efficiency. This role coordinates product transportation, interacts with customers, freight forwarders, and suppliers, and ensures accurate, timely order fulfillment while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Supply Chain Management
- Monitor inventory levels and alert appropriate departments of overstock, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Manage container schedules and assist with container buildouts.
- Create and review purchase orders, shipping documents, and invoices.
- Prepare export documentation based on customer and country requirements.
- Coordinate with distributors, freight forwarders, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Track delivery orders and inbound schedules at distribution locations.
- Maintain quality control packaging plans for all materials and finished goods.
Supplier Relations
- Serve as liaison between De Maison Selections and our international partners.
- Provide language support for international communications.
- Communicate documentation and compliance requirements to suppliers.
- Monitor supplier inventory levels to prevent supply issues.
- Gather accurate technical and label information from suppliers for our products.
Administrative Support
- Maintain detailed inventory database.
- Update product, contact, transportation, and pricing data in appropriate systems.
- Generate reports and documentation as required.
- Coordinate winery visits for educational and marketing purposes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the logistics department.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, finance, business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education/training/experience.
- Experience managing supply chain data and processes.
- International customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge and familiarity with the wine and spirits industry helpful
Technical Skills
- Fluency in Spanish or Japanese preferred; French helpful.
- Understanding of legal and regulatory compliance requirements for wine and spirits distribution preferred.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, with propensity to learn and master new tech (we use Asana, Airtable, Slack, supply chain management software, CRM, and ERP systems).
- Knowledge and familiarity with the wine and spirits industry helpful.
Other Details
- Location: On-site at our Chapel Hill office.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week Monday-Friday, generally 9am-5pm with occasional OT as business needs require.
