About our Company:
Founded in 2003, Ponte Family Estate Winery is a California-based winery nestled in the heart of Temecula Wine Country. Since 1984, we have been farming our vineyards, operating as a true working winery that grows and produces over 30 estate-grown varietals within certified sustainable facilities.
Located adjacent to our Four Diamond, 90-room boutique hotel, Ponte Vineyard Inn, our winery is surrounded by 300 acres of mature vineyards with picturesque views of rolling hills. We are seeking candidates with a proven track record of success in the DTC space, along with strong supervisory and hospitality experience. This role requires the ability to lead and inspire a team of 40 to 50 high-energy associates in a dynamic, guest-focused environment.
Compensation:
$120,000.00 annually + discretionary bonus based on pre-negotiated KPI Metrics.
Schedule:
- Wednesday- Sunday (variable, depending on business needs, staffing levels, etc.)
- 10:00am-7:00pm
- Weekends + Holidays availability is a must

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Expectations
- Develop and implement strategic plans to grow DTC sales across wine club memberships, online platforms, phone orders, and text-based sales (using platforms like RedChirp).
- Manage and oversee wine club operations, including customer acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies.
- Analyze sales data and consumer trends to identify new opportunities for revenue generation and customer retention.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create effective campaigns that promote DTC channels and drive traffic.
- Establish and monitor sales performance metrics and deliver regular reports to winery leadership.
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve escalated customer issues promptly.
Budget Expectations
- Develop and manage annual and quarterly budgets for DTC operations, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
- Forecast sales revenue and track performance against financial targets.
- Evaluate the ROI of sales initiatives and campaigns, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
- Manage expenses related to shipping, fulfillment, and technology platforms to optimize cost-effectiveness.
Leadership Expectations
- Build and manage a high-performing DTC sales team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Manage tasting room operations to maximize direct-to-consumer sales, implementing strategies to engage guests, promote product offerings, and close sales while maintaining exceptional service standards.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus within the sales department.
- Conduct regular sales meetings to review performance, provide training, and share updates on company initiatives.
- Set clear expectations and goals for individual team members while providing coaching and feedback to ensure success.
- Act as a liaison between the DTC department and other winery teams (e.g., production, marketing, and customer service).
- Perform any other duties as required by your Manager.
Technology and Communication Expectations
- Utilize wine-specific software, including Commerce7, ShipCompliant, and RedChirp, to manage e-commerce transactions, compliance, and customer communication effectively.
- Maintain a strong understanding of carrier software systems (UPS, FedEx, GLS) to optimize shipping operations and troubleshoot issues.
- Ensure seamless integration of technology platforms with sales and marketing efforts.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to coordinate campaigns, promotions, and fulfillment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to continuously improve the DTC sales process.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Commerce7, ShipCompliant, RedChirp, and carrier software (UPS, FedEx, GLS), or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of wine club operations, e-commerce platforms, and CRM systems.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills for sales driven goals.
- Outstanding organizational and analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving ability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred)
