Position: Distillery Production Assistant
Department: Distilled Spirits Production
Position Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Distillery Manager
Classification: Full-time
Position Summary:
The Production Assistant will assist in day-to-day production operations within Starlight Distillery.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the milling and mashing of grain
- Monitor still operation as documented in the Starlight Distillery (SOP)
- Assist with all cleaning operations within the facility
- Setup of bottling activities as recorded in the weekly bottling schedule
- Participate in the bottling of all Starlight Distillery products
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all tasks within the Starlight Distillery
- Record & maintain accurate distillation process records
- Assist, review, and build outbound distribution orders
- Assist in preparation of Starlight Distillery sample requests for shipping
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum age: 21 years
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Able to work flexible schedule and adjust to seasonal shifts
- Able to push, pull, carry, or lift up to 55 pounds
- Able to stand for up to 8 hours
- Able to operate a forklift
- Able to perform work independently
- Able to obtain alcohol serving permit
Required Education & Experience:
- 1 year of experience in beverage alcohol production
- Strong knowledge of wines and distilled spirits
- Understanding of fermentation science
