We are looking to add a few outgoing and hardworking Winery Associates to our team! Previous wine, sales or hospitality knowledge is a huge plus. Talking to customers and educating them in the world of wine is a large part of the job. When people visit UCW we want them to leave with a great experience and value.

This is not your regular server job, this is a mix of a tasting room, retail and production setting! If you like to be in an environment handling multiple different tasks and duties, this job may be for you!

Core Responsibilities:

Engage with guests in our tasting room, providing a warm and welcoming experience as well as educating them on our wines.
Conduct guided wine tastings and share knowledge about our unique wine offerings.
Assist customers in selecting wines, gifts, charcuterie, and chocolate from our curated collection.
Coordinate and host events, including private tastings, bottling parties and winemaking experiences.
Help plan Winery Events and increase customer base.
Create a positive and memorable atmosphere for guests, ensuring they feel at home.
Promote and sell our diverse range of wines and products.
Maintain high level of cleanliness and organization in the tasting room and production room.
Assist in winemaking activities such as bottling and labeling wines.
Promote wine sales and upsell additional products, such as gift items, charcuterie, and chocolate
Maintain accurate records of daily sales, inventory, and customer interactions.
Assist the manager and lead staff in day to day operations.
Assist in day to day activities and administration duties.

Customer Service Skills:Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide a welcoming and engaging experience for visitors.
Product Knowledge: Great knowledge of wines, including varietals, tasting notes, and food pairings. Willingness to learn about the specific wines offered by Urban Cellar Winery.
Sales Experience:Previous experience in sales, especially in a retail or hospitality setting, with a focus on upselling and promoting products.
Adaptability:Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment, handling multiple tasks and responsibilities. Able to work alone and with people.
Team Player:Collaborative mindset to work effectively with other team members and winery staff.
Professionalism:Professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with customers and representing the winery.
Problem-Solving Skills:Ability to handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and address challenges effectively.
Attention to Detail:Detail-oriented approach, especially in terms of maintaining a clean and organized tasting room presentation.
Cash Handling:Basic math skills and experience in processing sales transactions and handling cash.
Customer-Focused:Passion for creating positive customer experiences and exceeding customer expectations.
Flexibility:Willingness to work weekends based on the winery's operating hours and events.
Educational Background:High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education in hospitality, wine studies, or a related field is a plus.
Language Skills:Proficiency in English, and any additional language skills would be advantageous.
Passion for Wine: While not required, a genuine interest in wine and a willingness to learn and expand knowledge about wine is a must.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 24 per week
