Team Leader Responsibilities & Duties:

This role requires exceptional organization, time management and prompt communication to the Tasting Room Manager and ownership as requested.
This is a support role to the overall Tasting Room Operations team. This person is expected to lead by example and be a point of contact for all team members while working for training and leadership support. Embody the Rove culture and represent the “gold standard” in all aspects of service.
Perform opening and closing duties including closing registers and replenishing cash in drawers as needed throughout shift
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, the ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information and/or situations and the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
Demonstrate a high level of customer service when interacting with guests and club members.
Perform efficiently in a fast pace environment utilizing multi-tasking and leadership
Ensure, by performance and example, that Rove Winery culture is consistently supported in all business and employee interactions.
Work with Tasting Room Manager to support guest experience ensuring a successful Tasting Room workflow and operation.
Ensure that opening and closing procedures are properly followed by all team members.
Ensure that all Tasting Room staff follow responsible hospitality standards at all times.
Ensure that all Tasting Room staff members follow responsible alcohol service standards and are actively checking IDs and verifying guests are above the age of 21.
Resolve guest concerns/complaints using good judgment and professionalism and courtesy.
May be requested to attend special events and tastings outside the winery
Fulfill e-commerce orders as they come in. Must check email for orders daily.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager

Physical Requirements:

The Shift Leader position requires the ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time (up to 8–10 hours), including walking, standing, bending, and lifting. Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. (e.g., cases of wine, bar supplies) and confidently maneuver in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment. This role involves frequent movement behind the bar and throughout guest service areas, as well as occasional outdoor responsibilities in varying weather conditions. Must be able to safely operate standard tasting room equipment and perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail and efficiency.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
1-3 years of experience in a customer service or hospitality-related role.
1-3 years of supervisory experience.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to handle difficult customer interactions with tact and professionalism.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Familiarity with local attractions and activities that may be of interest to guests.
Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.

Compensation: Hourly rate plus gratuity and wine club commission (an additional $10-$25 an hour), $275 per month health stipend, 40-80 hours paid time off
