Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Assistant to work alongside our Lab director. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations by performing various tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures, as well as the ability to work effectively in an industrial laboratory setting. This role has the possibility of moving to a full time position.

Responsibilities

Work with Director and independently to

Conduct routine must and wine analyses, pre-bottling preparations
yeast additions
measure Brix/temperatures of fermentations
Enter analyses into software program and Excel files
Tank/barrel sampling and nutrient additions
Maintain and clean equipment
Work additional hours as required at harvest (Sept-Nov) which may include night shift and weekend work
Performs other duties as assigned by Director
Perform all job functions in adherence to company safety protocols and standard operating procedures
Perform in an environment with regular exposure to various indoor and outdoor weather conditions

Schedule:

Mon-Fri, 4-6 hours per day

Up to 6 days and 65 hours per week during harvest

Harvest starts late August and goes into late November. Time commitment for position increases for these months.

Experience

Associate or Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related field of study
Previous work experience in direct or related field is a plus
Knowledge of laboratory techniques is essential.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
Proficient in basic math skills necessary for conducting experiments and calculations.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in all tasks performed.

What you will bring

Ability read, write, speak, and understand English
Knowledge of basic computer programs including Word and Excel
Authorized to work in the US
must be able to lift 50lbs or more

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 65 per week

8 hour shift
