DELIVERY DRIVER POSITION

SUMMARY:

Responsible for delivering merchandise to customers in a safe, accurate and timely manner. Responsible for safely operating company vehicles. Functions as a key company interface with the customers and is responsible for fostering good customer relations by providing excellent service, a quality image, and helpful consideration to the customer.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operates vehicles safely and in conformance with traffic laws and applicable Department of Transportation regulations.

Maintains cleanliness of vehicles and reports any equipment malfunction.

Performs routine vehicle inspections to assure safe operation.

Removes product from the delivery vehicle and takes it into customer’s location.

Accurately checks-in product with the appropriate store personnel.

Assures that the customer receives the items, and quantities, of merchandise on their invoice. This requires a physical count of product and verification of merchandise item numbers.

Arranges merchandise before and after checking the order according to customer preferences. Puts up and rotates store stock in specified locations.

Obtains customer signatures on invoices and other documents as required by Post Winery policies.

Calls Distribution Supervisor to report any changes, overages/shortages, or customer service questions.

Accounts for all invoice changes made and return merchandise picked up.

Returns all returned or undelivered products and follows warehouse inventory procedures.

Notifies Sales Supervisor when encountering delivery schedule conflicts, customer desired schedule changes or other routing issues. Provides assistance to management on routing adjustments (e.g. - identifying route conflicts, scheduling new stores)

Represents the company in a positive manner: always has a neat and clean appearance, is courteous and has a helpful attitude.

Assists with warehouse duties, such as order picking, product stocking, truck loading when not performing delivery duties.

Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor or other company management.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Prolonged sitting, driving. Uses a hand truck and a manual pallet jack. Ability to work in severe weather conditions; both heat, cold, and precipitation in all forms. Constant travel by truck.

REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or G.E.D Must have a valid drivers license and be insurable by Post Winery insurance.

Must be able to pass a drug screen and stay drug free.

Must have a least 1 year of delivery experience.

Must be capable of lifting at least 50 pounds frequently.

Good math and communication skills are required. Must have ability to accurately check orders, read and understand invoices.

Knowledge of the warehouse operations and ability to work as a warehouse worker is required.

Must be legal to work in the United States.
