Job Description:

The Membership & Partnerships Manager reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and plays a central role in driving membership growth, retention, and revenue for the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance, a 501(c)(6) organization. This position leads all aspects of member and partner engagement, including membership recruitment, retention strategies, sponsorship fulfillment and relationship management, and member programming.

The Membership & Partnerships Manager collaborates cross-functionally with staff and leadership to deliver high-value experiences, strengthen industry relationships, and support the overall mission to promote and protect the Paso Robles AVA. Success in this role is highly dependent on building meaningful relationships and maintaining a visible, proactive presence with members, sponsors, and industry partners through regular communication, meetings, and participation in PRWCA and community events.

Success in this role will be measured by membership retention and growth, sponsorship revenue, member engagement, and overall member satisfaction. This role serves as a key connector across membership, marketing, events, and leadership initiatives. The Membership & Partnerships Manager duties include, but are not limited to:

Membership + Partnership Retention & Growth

Lead membership retention and recruitment strategy across all categories (Winery, Growers, Hospitality, and Associate members)
Own and execute the annual membership drive, including communications, benefit updates, and renewal process
Serve as primary point of contact for member inquiries, onboarding, and ongoing engagement
Monitor member satisfaction and proactively address concerns to strengthen retention
Lead annual member surveys and present key findings to staff and Board of Directors
Continuously evaluate and enhance membership benefits to increase value

Sponsorship & Revenue Development

Develop, sell, and manage sponsorship opportunities for member and consumer events (e.g., Annual Gala, Member Meetings, BlendFest and Paso Wine Fest)
Identify and support advertising and sponsorship opportunities within member-facing and consumer-facing materials
Own and support revenue goals tied to membership dues and sponsorships
Track and report on membership and sponsorship performance

Publications & Member-Facing Materials

Lead end-to-end production and project management of the Paso Robles Wine Country Map & Guide (consumer-facing), including vendor coordination, timelines, data accuracy, and member communication
Oversee production and distribution of the annual Member Directory (member-facing), ensuring accurate listings, ad sales and coordination, and timely delivery
Serve as primary liaison with external vendors (e.g., design, print, data partners) to ensure high-quality execution
Manage member participation, deadlines, and approvals for both publications
Continuously evaluate opportunities to enhance the value, usability, and revenue potential of these materials

Member Experience & Communications

Lead member communications across multiple channels (email, website, meetings, newsletters, etc.)
Plan and execute member engagement touchpoints (bi-annual meetings, office hours, etc.)
Lead the Membership Committee, including planning and facilitating at least three meetings annually
Act as an ambassador for PRWCA and the Paso Robles wine region at industry & community events

Events & Education

Collaborate with Events Manager to plan and execute member events, including bi-annual meetings, Gala, BBQ
Develop and maintain an annual calendar of member programming with the Member Engagement Coordinator
Collaborate with team on execution of consumer events including BlendFest and Paso Wine Fest

Data, Systems & Operations

Maintain accurate membership data across systems including Member Dashboard and communication platforms (e.g., MailChimp)
Analyze membership trends, retention metrics, and engagement data to inform strategy
Manage membership budget and forecasting

Job Requirements:

5+ years of experience in membership, sales, hospitality, wine industry, or related field
Experience with CRM/database management preferred
Experience with sponsorship sales or partnership development strongly preferred
Must be a team player with our small team, but able to build and maintain relationships with member business of all sizes
Ability to work independently, problem solve, multitask and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills
Strong customer service skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Professional and collaborative approach
University degree or college diploma in related field of study a plus (i.e., business, communications, etc.)
Education, experience, and interest in the wine industry
Proficiency with MS Office and email marketing platforms (MailChimp); CRM experience a plus
Ability to travel independently
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Valid drivers’ license

Location: This position is located in Paso Robles, California and includes limited local and statewide travel.
