Napa, CA – November 1, 2024 – Napa Valley Community Foundation (NVCF) is thrilled to announce the launch of two new scholarships aimed at broadening educational opportunities for local students and vineyard workers and their families.

The Coppola Family Travel Scholarship offers high school students in Napa County (grades 10-12) the opportunity to explore diverse cultures and expand their academic horizons. This one-time award, ranging from $5,000 to $15,000, supports participation in a summer enrichment program in the U.S. or Europe. Through this scholarship, Napa Valley students passionate about personal growth and global perspectives can turn their dreams into reality. Applications open November 1 and are due by December 2, 2024.

The Robert Alexander Scott Scholarship supports vineyard or winery workers, their children, and spouses who are pursuing a certificate or associate degree in viticulture or enology. This award provides $3,000-$5,000 per semester for students enrolled at select community colleges, with options to transfer to Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo for a bachelor’s degree. The scholarship enables individuals to advance their careers in viticulture and enology, with applications also due by December 2, 2024.

“We are deeply grateful to the Coppola Family and the Scott Family for their generosity in establishing these scholarships,” said Lupe Reyes, Director of Grants & Scholarships at Napa Valley Community Foundation. “Their support will be life-changing for students and workers in our community, allowing them to pursue educational dreams that might otherwise be out of reach. We are proud to be part of a community that invests in the futures of its young people and workforce.”

Both scholarships seek dedicated individuals with financial need, determination, and a strong commitment to their studies and their futures. Interested applicants should visit napavalleycf.org/scholarships for complete eligibility criteria and to apply.
