Tasting Room Manager
Job Overview:
Scribner Bend Vineyards is seeking an experienced, energetic, and highly organized individual to fill the position of Tasting Room Manager. This role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the tasting room, including employee management, customer service, and sales. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in a tasting room or hospitality environment and possess strong skills in staff management, technology use, and customer relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Tasting Room Operations: Manage the daily activities within the tasting room, ensuring smooth and efficient operations at all times. This includes overseeing wine tastings, tours, and customer interactions.
Employee Supervision: Supervise and lead tasting room staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management. Ensure that all team members provide exceptional service and adhere to operational guidelines.
Sales Management: Drive sales by providing expert wine knowledge and fostering a positive, educational, and engaging experience for visitors. Meet or exceed sales targets and manage customer relationships to increase repeat business and loyalty.
Customer Service: Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and maintain a welcoming, professional atmosphere. Ensure that each customer has a personalized and memorable experience.
Technology and Administrative Duties: Use POS systems for processing transactions and managing inventory. Maintain proficiency with general office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) to manage reporting, communications, and scheduling.
HR and Staff Development: Provide leadership in employee recruitment, training, and development. Assist in the performance review process and ensure staff morale and motivation are consistently high.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of employee management experience, preferably in a tasting room, hospitality, or retail environment.
Skills: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Proven ability to drive sales and manage a team effectively.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with POS systems and basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
Hospitality and Sales Expertise: Strong background in hospitality and sales, with the ability to engage with a diverse customer base and create an exceptional experience for all visitors.
HR Experience (Preferred): Experience in human resources, including recruitment, training, and employee relations, is a plus.
