Folino Estate is looking for an outstanding Farmhand / Vineyard Worker - personality with a passion to collaborate, bring culture and manage our extraordinary talent! We are looking to hire a hard-working, self-motivated, and high-energy individual to join our team. This position requires an employee to be a self-starter and independent.
The Farmhand / Vineyard Worker will ensure compliance with country standards and maintain a high level of vine health and vineyard integrity.
Responsibilities:
Included but not limited to the following.
- The Company reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time.
- Establish vineyards, pruning, tape trunks and canes, cluster thinning, leaf pulling
- Green fruit removal
- Help with installation of nets
- Hedging 2-3 times a year
- Lateral removal 1-2 times a year
- Estimate crop load
- Harvest grapes
- Spraying pesticides and maintaining the vineyard
Physical Requirements and Skills:
- Able to work ten hour-plus shifts, with extended standing/walking.
- Capable of lifting materials and/or product up to 50 pounds or more.
- Able to work in varying weather conditions
- Great time-management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across a multi-company organization.
- Sense of ownership and pride in personal performance and its impact on the success of Folino Estate.
- The ability to encourage co-workers to adhere to the standards of Folino Estate.
Required Qualifications:
- Vineyard or farm hand experience
- Must have experience driving a tractor
- Pesticide license is a plus, but must be willing to acquire it
- Solid track record of success in previous assignments demonstrating upward career tracking.
- Strong communication skills, bilingual in Spanish and/or Italian is a plus, but not required.
- Must be dependable, reliable, and self-motivated.
