The Hospitality team of The Vineyards | California Armenian Home creates unforgettable long-term care experiences for our diverse senior population. Summary: Performs cleaning and laundry tasks of resident rooms, offices, general areas, bathrooms, etc. to ensure the cleanliness of the facility.
Qualifications: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Must be able to follow instructions and use proper customer service skills with residents, family members, and fellow employees. Must be able to use equipment needed to perform the duties.
Education: High School preferred
Licenses/Certifications: None required
Experience Required: Previous health care setting experience preferred
Essential Functions:
- Daily cleaning of resident rooms, including sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash, dusting of all surfaces, cleaning restrooms
- Deep cleaning of rooms according to deep cleaning schedule.
- Deep cleaning of rooms upon resident discharge to prepare room for availability.
- Cleaning of office, nursing stations, dining rooms, guest restrooms, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, dusting, etc.
- Window washing per cleaning schedule.
- Responsible for keeping all chemicals and cleaning agents properly labeled, in proper containers for resident safety and according to State and Federal regulations.
- Retrieves solid laundry from soiled laundry barrels and sorts soiled laundry in the appropriate area of the laundry room.
- Wash, Dry, fold and distribute clean laundry, making certain that all clean linen rooms are adequately stocked with sufficient clean linen at all times.
- Keep supervisor informed of linens that need to be replaced to worn threads, etc.
- Keep all washers and dryers clean and report need for repair to supervisor and/or maintenance.
- Use proper cleaning agents per State and Federal regulations.
- Must attend all applicable In-service Education and staff meetings.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

- Ability to work in a busy environment
- Must be patient and use excellent customer service with residents, family members and visitors at all times.
